My passion for event planning and styling began way back in childhood. However, it really took shape as I hit my late teens.
Luckily for me, my family have always been involved in the charitable venue, South Douglas Old Friends Association on the Isle of Man. With community events being a huge part of what we do, I’ve had plenty of practice!
Then, in 2018, came…
My own wedding!
Being so passionate about event styling, getting married myself offered the perfect occasion for me to really explore my creativity. I also knew my wife and I wanted something simple, but truly unique.
A wedding that reflected us both as people.
In the end, as huge nature lovers, we settled on an outdoor venue in Laxey Glen’s stunning gardens. Because we’re both passionate about reading, I also created paper bouquets and roses. These were from the pages of our favourite books – Harry Potter and Fault in our Stars.
The result? A deeply personal wedding.
On top of this though, I saw a niche. Because if I could combine my creative styling passion with my event loving expertise, I could help others experience the same!
My Mum, being wise (as all mums are!), and seeing how much joy I got from planning my own wedding, said ‘why not!?’
So, that was it – ZoLo was born!
